PA in Westmoreland county

just probably made it impossible for me to vote. I'm disabled and I completed a request for medical absentee ballot several years ago. I called last week and was told I was good and that they were being sent out last week, I never got mine. I called today and was told I never requested one. I would have to go online and fill out a new request. I don't understand why they didn't say this last week when I called. I don't understand why they have 2 categories one mail-in-ballot and one absentee ballot and why for absentee due to medical issues they require you to constantly request a new ballot when a permanent disability status isn't going away. I don't understand why in the United States it's so freaking hard to vote.

We've always had the Absentee Ballot option for people who are planning to be out of town, or otherwise unable to come in person to their regular polling place. But it's only been since 2020 with the Covid lockdown that we also have the "mailed ballot" for people who choose to vote from home rather than risk getting exposed to Covid while standing in line.

You actually have one more day in which to request either the mailed ballot or the absentee ballot. Tuesday May 9th is the last day they will accept the request. Unfortunately if you mail it tomorrow, they won't receive it by tomorrow. Do you know anyone who can do you a favor and drop the ballot request form off to the County Board of Elections?

If you can get the request form to the County office by tomorrow, they will mail you a ballot which you must fill out an mail back to them by no later than Tuesday May 16th.

Good luck!
