Pennsylvania counties get ready for what's expected to be high turnout election

LANCASTER, Pa. — County elections offices in the Susquehanna Valley are getting ready for the general election, which is about two months away.

The chair of the Lancaster County Board of Elections, Commissioner Ray D'Agostino, said voters who've requested mail-in ballots can expect them to arrive in either late September or early October.

The elections office has to wait for a final list of candidates before beginning the process of creating, testing and printing ballots. D'Agostino says that can take two to three weeks.

The final day to register to vote is Oct. 21 and the last day to request a mail-in ballot is Oct. 29. Election Day is Nov. 5.
