Former President Barack Obama will be in Pittsburgh on Thursday to kick off a sweep through several battleground states in support of Vice President Kamala Harris. No details of exactly when and where Mr. Obama will be Thursday have been released, according to multiple media outlets.
Mr. Obama will be the latest Harris campaign surrogate to visit Western Pennsylvania in support of Ms. Harris presidential run. Recently Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez D-N.Y., visited the area on behalf of Ms. Harris.
Ms. Harris supported Mr. Obamas 2008 presidential bid early on in his campaign and some of his former staff members are now part of her campaign. Mr. Obama also spoke at the Democratic National Convention this year in support of Ms. Harris saying she is ready for the job.
Mr. Obama easily carried Pennsylvania in both his races, beating former Sen. John McCain by 10 percentage points in 2008 and former Gov. Mitt Romney by more than 5 in his re-election run four years later. In the 2008 race, he even managed to carry a few areas that traditionally vote overwhelmingly Republican, like rural Elk County.

Its happening in Pittsburgh this weekend. It would be a GREAT place for Obama to be seen. Please dont put him in a room with a bunch of politicians. Obama does so well with the people.

There are also smaller ones that end this weekend at Penn Brewery, Hofbrauhaus, and others. Canonsburg had an Oktoberfest but I think it's over.
