Tuition to increase at state colleges in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The state Board of Education Wednesday night approved tuition hikes for the fall of 2017 at the three public colleges, NBC10-WJAR reported.

The increases are about 7 percent, which would elevate annual in-state tuition at the University of Rhode Island by $908. The rate at Rhode Island College would increase by $570, while tuition at the Community College of R.I. would go up by $290, NBC10-WJAR said.
