Trey Gowdy fundraising off criticism from Democrat Adam Schiff
WASHINGTON — The top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee criticized the way Trey Gowdy questioned Jared Kushner earlier this week. Now, the South Carolina congressman is fundraising off of it.
“I'll get straight to it — I've ticked off Nancy Pelosi & her buddy in Congress — Adam Schiff, and the Democrats are targeting me for defeat,” read an email sent from Gowdy’s fundraising arm Friday. “Because I have been speaking the truth in Congress this past week (and always), Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff are lining up the Democrat machine to take me down next election.”
Gowdy “ticked off” California Democrat Adam Schiff when he questioned Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law and adviser to the president, during a private meeting for the House Intelligence Committee earlier this week. California's Pelosi is the House Minority Leader and is often used as an example of liberal influence in the House of Representatives.
Schiff, who is the highest ranking Democrat on the Intel committee, said that behind closed doors Gowdy took the role as a second attorney for Mr. Kushner,” according to Bloomberg News.
