Former 'Amazing Race' contestant to run as Democrat for U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn's seat
Justin Kanew, a film writer and producer from Williamson County and past contestant on the television show "The Amazing Race," says he's running as a Democrat in 2018 for the seat held by U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tennessee.
It's a long-shot bid in Tennessee's heavily Republican 7th Congressional District.
But Kanew said he feels driven to step up in the ongoing battle over health care to fight the alternative proposal pushed by President Donald Trump to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.
"It's a cruel bill and we need as many people as possible in Congress that are are willing to fight against something like this," he said of Republicans' alternative health care plan. "This is exactly the kind of thing that shows there are people putting corporations and the wealthy ahead of the people of Tennessee."

Especially Middle TN. My contention is that all these Bozoes were elected (& re-elected) because of these shady electronic voting machines. I agree w/Trump on one thing--elections ARE rigged! Rigged for & by them! Citizens United certainly had helped them win elections & should be overturned, BUT we should be just as active in getting these machines outlawed & go back to paper ballots. The fact that DeJarlais was re-elected is particularly suspicious. Also, we need to investigate the churches using their pulpits to persuade their congregations to vote for a particular candidate (mainly Republicans). We need to gather evidence of this & then have their tax-exempt status revoked. That will clean up that unconstitutional activity real quick! Ok, off my soapbox now.
I'm hoping this review by the Cincinnati 6th Court of Appeals looking at the validity of the abortion ban vote in 2014 will result in a light being shined on our voting processes, not just in TN, but all across the country. Then maybe we can get rid of these "creatures" & elect some decent representation. Keep your fingers crossed! 
I'm considering working the polls in 2018.
