Amid fraud investigation, Kelsey Ketron resigns from GOP executive committee
Kelsey Ketron, a member of the Tennessee Republican Party State Executive Committee, resigned from her seat on Tuesday amid a investigation into insurance fraud accusations involving her work with her family's insurance agency in Murfreesboro.
"It has been my honor to serve the Republican party as a member of the GOP Executive Committee for Rutherford County for the past five years," Ketron said in a letter sent to The Daily News Journal.
Ketron won a second four-year term to serve on the voluntary GOP executive committee August 2018.
"I decided to step down from this position to make sure the recent stories about me in the press dont distract from the tremendous work the Republican party is doing in Rutherford County and our state. I want to thank the Executive Committee and my Rutherford County colleagues for the privilege of serving."
