Cutting out long transportation costs saves energy & excess pollution. Plus, fresher food is healthier!
Corporate farming has resulted in increased pollution of our soil, air & water, not to mention produces a less nutritious product. It has also placed large amounts of land in the hands of corporations, instead of individuals. (No, Mitt, corporations are NOT people! )

The STEALING of family farms in the 1980's was a coup d'etat that began our fall from a truly powerful nation. Those who control the food & water supply control the people. Actually, they hold them hostage.

If you can grow ANY of your own food, it will be a big help to all. Even if it's just a tomato plant in a pot on your balcony.

nice idea, but some parts of Tenn have pretty terrible city ordinances: Johnson City (Washington Cty) banned Farmer's Markets bcs they weren't paying enough to rent vending space. You can still drive out to Jonesborough though.
