(Received today from the Tennessee Healthcare Coalition):
You are cordially invited to a party, a very important one for our health care - a LETTER-WRITING PARTY. And there will be food.
We will be writing to Senator Lamar Alexander and our state legislators about the importance of protecting our health care as Congress introduces a budget resolution that will strip away health care for 30 million Americans, most of whom are working families.
Background
Republican leaders plan to dismantle the ACA and take away coverage from millions of working people, while they spend years trying to come up with their solution. For the past six years, Republicans have failed to put together any viable plan to replace the ACA.
Impact of Repeal
Health care premiums would increase dramatically for millions
Tax credits that help consumers pay for health insurance would disappear and these premiums would increase by as much as $3,000
Consumers could once again be denied insurance due to pre-existing conditions like cancer, diabetes, heart disease, migraines
Access to free preventative services like mammograms, cancer screenings, and substance abuse screenings could end
The number of uninsured children in the U.S. could double
Please join us. It's your health and mine that is on the line.

(15,311 posts)I know that many of us have already contacted our representatives, but it's good to rally, educate, and energize others. Thanks for the good wishes. I believe the Republicans have overestimated their position on this and many other critical issues.
