Trailer hauling 40,000 pounds of frozen chicken catches fire in Dallas

A semi truck hauling more than 40,000 pounds of frozen chicken caught fire in Dallas early Wednesday.

Several lanes remained closed Wednesday morning following the fire, which broke out just before 1 a.m. on Interstate 30 near the city’s border with Grand Prairie.

The driver pulled over because of a brake failure and saw the fire as he got out of the truck near Loop 12, according to media reports.

The driver quickly disconnected the tractor from the trailer, but the flames still spread through the trailer, KDFW-TV (Channel 4) reported.
