I had plans for something else entirely yesterday, but I got sucked into watching the Tarrant County Commissioners Court. It lasted for eight hours. What I saw yesterday was shocking and disturbing. Tarrant County has a white supremacy problem, which I previously discussed, but I didnt realize how bad the situation was until I watched the eight-hour Commissioners Court hearing yesterday.
There were three major issues discussed at the hearing yesterday:
1. Since 2017, when Republican Sheriff Bill Waybourn was elected, there have been 63 deaths in Tarrant County jail. Two of those deaths happened in the last few weeks. Most of these deaths have been Black men; almost all of them were men who either had mental illness or intellectual disabilities.
2. The Trump-endorsed Tarrant County District Attorney, Phil Sorrells, has decided to go after Crystal Mason again after a Texas appeals court overturned Masons five-year prison sentence. Sorrells intends to re-convict her.
3. Community members wanted to make their voices heard about the racist display we saw last month from Tarrant County Judge Tim OHare toward Commissioner Alisa Simmons.
As you can imagine, the entire eight-hour meeting was racially charged.

There's going to be some changes there soon. If not this election, then soon.
A whole bunch of white boys need to get the heave ho.

(22,753 posts)He has an opponent on the ballot. His name is Patrick Moses and he spent 30 years as a federal law enforcement officer. I think he will be excellent.
I hope folks stay as outraged as they are now up through November.
