A large number of people are without power and it will take some time to restore

I remember during Hurricane Ike, it took a couple of weeks to get power back up. I had some partners who were without power for three weeks. They ended up going to the Y or a club to shower each morning before coming to the office.

(7,974 posts)4. Well Howdy! I was there for IKE too. A miserable time for so many.
We didnt have power for 14 days. Rotten food, hole in roof and lots of downed trees everywhere. Stacks of mildewed towels from soaking up the rain inside on the floors.
Just an awful time.
