(2,259 posts)The food isnt particularly good, in fact has been getting worse for going in the last 10 years. At least were better than McDonalds isnt exactly a bragging point.

(830 posts)and I are the same age! My birthday is tomorrow 😬
I remember going to the original Whataburger with my Dad as a child. After my brother was born he and I would visit oil wells on Padre Island in a WWII Willis Jeep and stop by Whataburger on the way home.
Good times!💕

(2,311 posts)I don't get it why In-N-Out has a cult following either, but I don't have a history of growing up with the chains. No hanging out there, no teenage dates there, no bright lights of civilization when you're on a road trip and need something to eat after sit-down places are closed.
I say, if you enjoy what they're slinging, go ahead and have another one for me while you're there. And if somebody happens to be campaigning for POTUS, it doesn't hurt to stop in & have one with the down-ticket candidates to give 'em a boost
