City Bans Trans People From Using Restrooms That Don't Match Their Sex Assigned At Birth

The City Council of Odessa, TX, (The Friendly State) passed the ordinance by a vote of 5 - 2, which is a solution for which there is no problem, except on Fox News. My wife informs me that in all her years, she has never witnessed a problem as they have stalls with doors. She has let me know, innumerable times, that there are just never enough of them at concerts, etc.

But back to the point, will you need your Birth Certificate to use a public restroom and what if you forgot it? How will they enforce this law? I think since Ted Cruz seems to have such a weird, sort of perverse interest in this non-existent problem, he should move to Odessa and act as a bathroom monitor, checking your Birth Certificate then looking in your underwear to verify compliance. You just know he wants to and it would at least give him something to do other than the only thing he seems to spend most of his doing, which is trolling.

It doesn't surprise me that such a law would be passed in Odessa. Odessa is very religiously conservative and this is the sort of cruel chicken-s**t ordinance that certain fundamentalist activists would want enacted into law. And, as typical with the little minds that think up such laws, both the law's writers and the politicos that pass it into law ignore reality.

The truth is, despite the ideologues' wishful thinking, this law is likely to be broken by normal women at peace with their biological gender. I have seen, more than once, ladies getting desperate at concert venues and sporting events where facilities are limited, lines are long, and the need to make water is overwhelming. If the need goes beyond a certain points, some ladies will take action: they'll crash the guys' bathrooms, no matter what chicken-s**t minds enact into law.

So what are the cops going to do in such a situation? Arrest them?

Sure looks that way.

It only applies to city facilities.
The mayor threw this to the voters as "red meat" to assure his relection next week.
It won't be enforced.
