(9,992 posts)Nice to know we'll have a place to commiserate during what is sure to be a nasty Senatel race next year. I can't believe that turd George Allen has been reintroduced to the punch bowl.
Yes it's good to know the VA forum is here for us. I've noticed the ads already against Kaine and it's sure to get ugly.

(5,003 posts)I'm originally a Marylander! Moved to VA in 2004.
Right now, the two confirmed candidates in VA are Cuccinelli and Bolling, both R's... ugh.

(3,123 posts)I know a few folk in Northern VA and I even worked in Arlington for a while back in the 90's. All the races are gonna be u-g-l-y in the months to come (sad to say) so hang in there and give 'em hell at the polls!!!
I like the way you think, "give 'em hell at the polls"!

(24,075 posts)Dad was in the military, so we moved around a lot; but after the Army and college I moved to Northern VA where I've lived and worked for the last 35+ years.

(9,474 posts)Checking in from the beautiful Alleghany Highlands, specifically Clifton Forge. Born and raised here, but joined the Navy and lived all over the states and Puerto Rico for 22 years. Settled in SC after retirement, but after 42 years away, I had to get back to "my" mountains!
I hate what's going on in Richmond with all the repubs in charge, but don't regret moving back home, and will be working to get more Dems elected, locally and statewide.

(391 posts)I'm another one of the "NoVA" crew here, up in Fairfax County. I'm a migrant like many others in the area it seems, as I moved here in '05 from MD, and lived in WI before that. My "political" hat usually only gets hauled out around the presidential elections, but I've been trying to get more involved in the whole state and local thing. Glad to see that there are some other "blue" folks in Dixie besides myself.
