I didn't trust the USPS this election so I voted early rather than via mail. Easy and quick for me. Everybody was properly masked and distanced. I was in the building about five minutes.
I know several people whose ballots were mailed mid September and they have disappeared in the mail. Tracking stops after the second scan.
Edit for clarity: They have not received their ballots.

(56,582 posts)I'm overseas so I sent my ballot back weeks ago. Here's hoping. I can't stomach the thought of Virginia going red again.

(3,215 posts)I got my first ballot the first week of early voting. Sent it back in a day and got a email saying I needed a witness signature two days later.
So I spoiled that ballot and got a second one in two days. Signed and got my boss to witness for me and put it in the mail at my local post off next day.
Now it's been over a week and the online site still doesn't list receiving the second ballot. Called today and looks like if they don't receive it by Tuesday. I'm going to have to spoil that second ballot and get a third issued.

(18,111 posts)We don't seem to have regular mail delivery except parcels, most of which are coming from Amazon. Once a week or so a carrier will deliver some mail to addresses (often wrong) late at night. This has been going on for more than a month.
There was a highly publicized catch up two weeks ago and we got two deliveries on Sunday. More than a month of junk mail. No ballot, no utility bills, only one recently mailed bill.
This is in the Charlottesville area. Is it just a coincidence that it is a very blue area?

(3,215 posts)Had six letters from a neighbor left in my box. Also, Can't judge as I almost always pay on line and monitor any bill on the their web site.
I'm in NOVA, but wouldn't be surprised that they try messing with blue area mail.
