ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- More than 60 new jobs are coming to Albemarle County.

Bonumose, Inc., a sugar company, will build its headquarters on Pantops.

Governor Ralph Northam making the announcement Thursday.

The company, which produces affordable and healthier sugar for mass markets, will create 64 new jobs over the next three years.

Northam says it's a $28 million investment.

"That means a lot to Virginia," he said. "In the last three and a half years, we've had close to $50 billion. That's record setting in the Commonwealth of Virginia."

Bonumose Chief Executive Ed Rogers says the company plans to start up in early 2022.

He says it currently has 13 employees.
