I will never forget Heather Heyer being killed because of the planned removal of a Confederate officer statue in Charlottesville, 2017. I recall the mayor of Baltimore quietly contracting for the removal and relocation of many statues there, about a week later, so the same thing might not happen there. Whether it would or not is conjecture now, because she took them down!

Heather Heyer was killed because fascists, racists, and other extremists chose to pretend their rally was about a statue. It wasn't about a statue.

The A. P. hill statue removal was delayed because of court battles. Hill's remains are there.
