Former Dave Matthews Band violinist Boyd Tinsley has been charged with driving under the influence after a car crash just outside Charlottesville.

Albemarle County police said they were dispatched to a reported two-vehicle collision in the Rio area north of the city around 5:54 p.m. Monday. ... There were no injuries reported at the scene.
Witnesses said that Tinsley, behind the wheel of a Cadillac Escalade, hit a Chevrolet Corvette in the area of U.S. 29 and Woodbrook Drive. There were no injuries to report at the scene, but the police were called after the other motorist took note of Tinsleys allegedly drunken behavior. ... Tinsley was charged with driving under the influence and transported to the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail before being released on bond.
Tinsley has not been associated with the Dave Matthews Band, which got its start in Charlottesville in 1991, since his high-profile departure six years ago.
