every appointment at all cvs locations on Virginia is already full.
A prerequisite is indeed to register with vdh which you did.
Our local health district ( western tidewater) also now has an online registration for a list . They will call back to.schedule the appointments using that list. My wife got on it about a minute after it went live. We shall see if she gets a call soon..

maybe Portsmouth but not Va. Bch. Here in the Metro area the closest sites were Woodstock and Harrisonburg.

We'll just keep at it, agree about the long wait-- mid Spring maybe!

Thanks for the reply.

the Tidewater area, been going there since I was born..

I'm thinking this will be longer than expected, Spring, but at least it's happening.

I have checked all the big box stores and the only one doing this in VA is CVS. Others may expand their vaccine site to VA at a later date. CVS says they are expecting another 26,000 doses next week. The only thing I can think of is to keep trying their web site early and often to try to get an appointment next week. Sorry I can't be of more help.

... want one if my wife has to wait. We'll keep waiting and self-quarantining.

I do not mind someone slipping in and grabbing our shots. People who engage in risky social behaviors probably should get theirs first.

I have no advice, but I have faith in Joe Biden's promise to vaccinate 100 million in 100 days and I understand it looks to be accomplished.

Joy and I know we'll be taken of, Biden/Harris said so.

So be it, faith in Joe's admin. is a blessing esp. in view of the alternative- nightmare.

Secretary, and it was how much better I felt on Nov 4. It is as easy to trust Joe as it was Barrack. As easy as it would have been to trust Hillary Clinton and I am impressed how well and back up out of the corner she's been after being robbed.

We have good leaders.

pharmacy to get an appointment. The pharmacy website informs me that they are "All booked." The Post reports that the CVS computer system can't interface with the public health system, so they have no idea who has signed up with the state public health system and get first priority. The Post reports that Virginia received only 26,000 hits of vaccine for the month, and it's already used. CVS suggests trying again later. Frankly, I'm not worried. 26,000 is a drop in a pretty large bucket, so I can wait for the distribution system to pick up. But the disorganized distribution system irritates me.

with the VDH system, that's a mess.

Based on my experiences and other input, esp. here I figure on Spring, it's going to take a while.

With Biden in charge I have confidence in the vaccine rollout..

I have read in several places that the 26,000 is a weekly quantity.

Here is one: https://www.nbc29.com/2021/02/08/registration-opens-feb-covid-vaccine-certain-cvs-health-locations/

...
CVS Health will get 26,000 vaccine doses each week for Virginia which increases the state’s vaccine supply by 20%.
...

I'm going to keep trying to arrange an appointment, but feel that vaccine in any arm near me is good. I am fortunately able to stay at home, so I can be careful and wait.

15. Thanks, Yonnie, I wondered about that. Good to hear that's a week's supply rather than a month.

It'll still go pretty fast, though. But no worries, we can wait.
