Alaska Airlines adds route to Anchorage from Everett's Paine Field
Alaska Airlines is adding nonstop flights from Paine Field in Everett to Anchorage, Alaska, the SeaTac-based airline announced last week.
Alaska Air Group's regional airline, Horizon Air, will operate the route, which will offer the longest flights yet from Paine Field. Set to begin service Nov. 30, Anchorage will be Alaska's ninth destination from Everett through the fall and winter.
"There's a significant need and demand to connect workers and businesses in the two regions from the fishing industry to aviation in addition to the desire for leisure travel," Brett Catlin, Alaska's vice president of network and alliances, said in a news release.
The added destination follows record revenues and soaring demand for air travel at Alaska Airlines. The roughly four-hour flights to Anchorage will run daily, departing Paine Field at 11:05 a.m. Return flights from Anchorage will leave daily 1:40 p.m. local time.
