1-year-old dies after being left in a hot car outside of a hospital for nine hours, police say

A 1-year-old child died after being left in a car parked outside of a hospital for nine hours in Washington state last week, police said.

The child’s foster mother arrived at the hospital for work around 8 a.m. Wednesday and forgot the child inside the car, not realizing it until she returned just after 5 p.m., according to Puyallup Police Department public information officer Don Bourbon.

Many have done the same only to end up in jail. I thought the car industry was going to try to do something like a special alarm or something.

You’d better be on the ball and careful if you’re going to be responsible for an animal or child. If you can’t, you don’t take on the responsibility. It’s not something a normal person just forgets.

But I think people get overwhelmed with thoughts on their daily tasks. No excuses of course.

It is hard to comprehend how it can happen and I would not begin to try snd make excuses. You would never have expected it to have happened with this
Invidual. The matter was investigated and no charges were not filed. It was a tragic accident that I am sure will stay with the family for ever.

I am angry but we don't know this woman's situation and what lead to this horrendous loss of life. I wish cars were equipped with a small set of solar panels that either ventilate or heat the car when in sunlight.
