Former Capitol Hill QFC will make way for large mixed-use project

Hunters Capital has filed pre-development plans with the city of Seattle to turn a former QFC-anchored shopping strip on Capitol Hill into a 150-unit mixed-use development.

A preliminary site plan for the five-story project, called The Moore, lists Runberg Architecture Group as the architect.

Seattle-based Hunters Capital acquired the 0.6-acre property at 416 15th Ave. E. in 2017 with long-term plans to redevelop it, said Michael Oaksmith, president of development.

“Hunter plans to build something economically viable on the site, but will work hard to keep the street level experience local, unique, small and fun,” he said. “Retailers are what makes the 15th and 19th street experience, so we intent to add to what is already great about that area.”
