Drier, warmer Fall season predicted for western Washington, says National Weather Service

Fall is right around the corner and the National Weather Service (NWS) has released their newest "Long Range Outlook" to give us a hint of what we can expect when it comes to temperatures and precipitation for the next 3 months.

In the 8-14 day outlook for wetness, much of the northwest is being given a 30 to 40 percent chance of below normal amounts of precipitation between early September and Sept. 22. Those would be the remaining days of summer with fall arriving on the 22nd.

A map showing expected temperatures has the northwest leaning towards above normal temps during that time.

Looking out three months, through November, NWS is expecting a drier than average fall for us in western Washington.
