Portland's Voodoo Doughnut chain plans first Seattle location

Voodoo Doughnut, known for long lines and eccentric flavors, is planning its first Seattle expansion.

Last week, the Portland-based company filed plans to fill at least 2,600 square feet at the Booker Building on Capitol Hill, at the corner of Pine Street and Minor Avenue.

It's unclear when the Capitol Hill location could open. It would be the second in Washington, following a Vancouver doughnut shop that opened in early 2022. Founded in 2003 in Portland's Old Town neighborhood, Voodoo Doughnuts now operates other locations in Oregon, Texas, Colorado, Arizona and Florida, with a Chicago expansion set to open soon.

Representatives for Voodoo Doughnuts did not respond to requests for comment.

I have flown through Portland a few times…much prefer Sea-Tac but PDX is pretty nice. And every time I do I can’t help but think they need a Voodoo Doughnut at the terminal.
