Seattle's crane count drops but still tops this list

Seattle saw a decrease in the number of construction cranes over the last six months, and with 45 in operation, the city leads the nation in the latest Rider Levett Bucknall Crane Index that was released last week.

Second on the list is Los Angeles, with 30, followed by Denver's 24 and 20 in Boston.

The latest count for Seattle is well below the high water mark of 65 in July 2018.

-snip-

Not surprising is that of Seattle's 45 cranes, 27 are residential towers. Only seven of the cranes are for commercial projects, with four more used on mixed-use developments.
