Your local Bar, a cornerstone for a neighborhood. I was fortunate enough to have a couple of favorite watering holes along my life’s travels where almost everyone knew almost everyone’s name. I’d think a wise developer might consider incorporating Murphys into their plans.

AND, My Mom was a Murphy. And I’m godawful proud of my Irish blood.

Time was, you could grab a movie (they showed the good ones) and then head over to Murphy's. You could even fit in a trip to Open Books and visit with John and Christine.

Developers will not be happy until every quirky or fun business in Seattle is gone. They've already ruined Ballard, now I guess they have Wallingford in their sights.

Of course, they mostly stopped making, and people stopped going to, the kind of movies they showed. It was a luxury having that chain around. Regal will show good movies sometimes but they vamoose them in about a week so you're SOL most of the time. Otherwise it's superheroes or horror.
