Granite Falls '10-foot alligator' is actually a tegu named 'Tazz'

GRANITE FALLS — Turns out, the “10-foot alligator” still on the loose is just Tazz, an Argentine white tegu.

As of Saturday morning, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Dave Hayes said Tazz hadn’t been captured.

Locals first spotted the reptile on Friday evening near the 9400 block of Ray Grade Road. What was first reported as a 10-foot-alligator turned out to be a tegu, a legal exotic pet native to South America.

Tazz’s owner, Avery Coleman, told KIRO that the reptile is “incredibly docile and friendly.”

Had to look it up online because the article's photo wasn't real clear.
