Recommendations for meeting/volunteer

I am in the process of moving to Kitsap county from Texas. I am leaving my family/friends and I would like to volunteer or attend some groups/meetings to meet people. I am a 68 year young female with interests in sewing, politics, reading, retired RN.

The obvious starting place is https://kitsapdemocrats.org/, who could always use more volunteers. Try out the numerous churches in the area and find one that suits you. Where specifically are you relocating to- North, Central or South Kitsap?

and I am not sure churches would be such a great fit. Thanks for the rec on the group-- I will check it out! The address of the home is listed as Kingston.

3. I'm in Kingston

I go past Gamblewood several times a week. Humble middle class community. For me there are some great AA groups, but that may not be your thing either. There are some great groups that meet up at the Kingston community center through the week and handicrafts and such. That might interest you.
