Hottest hiring markets: Here's where Seattle ranks

The job marketing is softening nationally, but the Seattle metro keeps churning at a fast pace.

That's according to new data from the research arm of payroll giant ADP, which identified the nation's hottest hiring markets based on pay growth, starting wages and hiring rate for 15 million workers.

ADP ranked the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue metro area as the fourth-hottest hiring market, where the average pay grew by 6.5% annually.

Hiring rate, which represents the number of new hires as a share of monthly total employment, grew by 4% in the metro between July 2023 and June 2024. New hires can expect to earn $20 per hour, behind only the California cities San Jose ($25) and San Francisco ($21).
