Snohomish school leader on leave following sex abuse allegations

SNOHOMISH — An assistant principal at a Snohomish middle school has been on administrative leave for over three months following allegations of child sexual abuse.

On Nov. 6, Lake Stevens police arrested Julian Parker for investigation of first-degree rape of a child. The allegations were not related to his work as an assistant principal at Centennial Middle School in the Snohomish School District.

The next day, Everett District Court Judge Tam Bui found probable cause for the allegation and set bail at $50,000. Bui ordered him to have no contact with minors. Parker, 37, posted bail and was released from the Snohomish County Jail that night.

On Monday, school district spokesperson Kristin Foley confirmed the district placed Parker on administrative leave “since learning of non-school related allegations.”
