Flooding expected to continue along Ohio River

With flooding already reported in some communities along the Ohio River, a flood warning remains in effect for several areas.

“The main concern is, of course, the Ohio itself, which is going to go to pretty much moderate flood [stage] just about most places south of Parkersburg,” meteorologist Michael Kistner said Sunday.

The flood warning was in effect Sunday until Monday morning for the river in West Virginia at Parkersburg, Point Pleasant, Robert C. Byrd Lock and Dam in Gallipolis Ferry and in Huntington.

The river is expected to crest in Point Pleasant early Monday morning, in Huntington Monday afternoon and in Greenup, Kentucky Tuesday morning, Kistner said.
