NEW: Residents and environmental advocates are concerned the US Forest Service’s plan to clear-cut 3,500 acres of trees will return West Virginia to the days when loggers cut down the state’s trees with abandon.

We spent a lot of time camping and hiking in the Monongahela Natl Forest when I was in college. It’s exquisite and should not be touched!
Clear cutting is not preservation, can’t believe they are trying to claim that.
