Unofficial Election Night Results will be posted on this page for the April 2, 2019 Spring Election after the close of polls. Due to the volume of activity in the County Clerk's Office on Election Night, unofficial results will be posted periodically as staff is able to post. Note that due to central count absentee processing in the Town of Grand Chute and City of Appleton, results may not be final until it is noted on this page that all results have been posted and finalized.
The County Clerk's Office is experiencing issues with IT and modem results. Results are now being gathered in an alternative method and will be posted by municipality as we gather them:

(4,450 posts)I think Hagedorn's got this one. La Crosse County is our last hope. But it's looking real bad right now.

(9,183 posts)Chppewa, lacrosse and Portage. Should help.

(4,450 posts)Portage might help a little but probably close to a wash. Not encouraged about Chippewa... that area is trending red last few years.

(52 posts)Tough night.
Neubauer actually took 21 counties, Evers last year only took 19
But - Milwaukee County was less in total vote than Dane County. A FIRST!!!! (Milwaukee 150,104 to Dane County 151,856) And Dane county cast 120,116 for Neubauer, while Milwaukee only mustered 93,565 for Neubauer. This was the problem in 2016 when voters didn't go to the polls and it appears again tonight that from last year when Milwaukee was roughly 14.5% of the total vote - tonight it was only about 12% of votes cast. Lesson learned over and over - the Repulithugs show up for every election - Dems not so much. Party needs to help people understand that their vote counts each and every time. 2018 Milwaukee County had 389K voters and Dane County had 291K that turned out for the Governors race. The usual 33% more voters. Tonight Dane County turnout was 151K to Milwaukee County's 150K.
Unless Milwaukee county has absentee votes that remain outstanding - as it did in 2018 at the end of night in the governors race, there aren't enough votes remaining to change the outcome.
If Dems got their voters to the polls - they would win. All midterm, off year elections see voter drops - it's just a question of what voters stay home.

(9,183 posts)Almost all the precincts yet to count are in Outagamie county With 25% in they are trending 60/40 away from Neubauer.

(52 posts)61% of Vote in and Neubauer leads 7197 to 6927.
Next report likely in 15 minutes or so. Could be more of a nail biter than expected.

(9,629 posts)Outagamie went for Walker over Evers 54-43 last November, so I am thinking the remaining precincts may be outlying districts that will swing R.
Added: Excluding Brown Co, there seems to be a +2 Republican shift in the other Fox Valley counties when comparing this election to last fall's gubernatorial election.

(9,183 posts)I agree.
But here's to hopin'.
TheRealNorth
(9,629 posts)It looks like Neubauer did a couple points better than Evers in rural southwestern WI and the Superior shore, but underperformed in SE WI by around 4 point.
P.S. Has anyone ever looked at how many absentee ballots are coming from cabins in Vilas and Oneida County? Would be interesting to even see if anyone looks at the proportion of absentee ballots coming in from some of those "Summer Home" counties.
Sparko55
(52 posts)Actually she picked up Trempeleau County, Door, and if things hold Outagamie, but lost Kenosha.
What's kind of funny is that the Dems are taking most counties that have seen population and job growth - which only about 1/2 of the states 72 counties have had since 2010. And the majority of that is in Dane, Milwaukee and the university counties - like Eau Claire, La Crosse, and Portage. State up until only the past year or two had a net loss of residents from 2010.
There something happening here.......

(4,450 posts)Maybe if Evers is successful in rebuilding K-12 education and the UW System that can happen.
