You can vote at home, and avoid election day crowds.
Why this is not being promoted during a pandemic is anyone's guess.
Wisconsin voters can easily get more information, find their registration status, voting locations and request an absentee ballot at the official Wisconsin Elections website:

I want to promote absentee voting. Voting at Home is smart, safe and a logical choice, not only during a pandemic, but for every election when Tuesdays are normally a busy day for people who may only have a couple of hours to vote.

Please consider making sure you can vote by voting at home.

Absentee Voting- Deadlines for the April 7, 2020 Spring Election

All voters in Wisconsin can request an absentee ballot be mailed to them for any reason.

Voters must be registered before they can request an absentee ballot. Voters may request their absentee ballot in writing. To request an absentee ballot on MyVote.wi.gov. You must provide a photo ID with your absentee ballot request.


April 2, 2020 @ 5:00 p.m.- Deadline to Request an Absentee Ballot- Regular and Permanent Overseas Voters- If you are a regular or a Permanent Overseas Voter, your absentee ballot request must be received by your municipal clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 2, 2020.

April 3, 2020 @ 5:00 p.m.- Deadline to Request an Absentee Ballot- Indefinitely Confined- If a voter is indefinitely confined, your absentee ballot request must be received by your municipal clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 3, 2020.

Possibly though April 5, 2020 -Deadline for In-Person Absentee- Voters can possibly request and vote an absentee ballot in-person in their municipal clerk’s office through April 5, 2020. Office hours vary by municipality. Some municipal offices may not offer additional in-person absentee hours Please contact your municipal clerk for absentee voting hours.

April 7, 2020 @ 5:00 p.m.- Deadline for Hospitalized Voters- Voters who are in a hospital may request a ballot be brought to them by an appointed agent if they are hospitalized in the 7 days preceding the election. Hospitalized electors may request an absentee ballot between March 31, 2020 and April 7, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.

April 7, 2020 @ 5:00 p.m.- Deadline to Request an Absentee Ballot- Military If a voter is in the military then your absentee ballot request must be received by your municipal clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 7, 2020.

April 7, 2020 @ 8:00 p.m.- Deadline to Return Absentee Ballot- If you have already received an absentee ballot, you must return your absentee ballot by mail or delivery to your municipal clerk. Your ballot must be received by your municipal clerk no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, April 7, 2020.

3. Questions regarding the request for an absentee ballot.

How do we provide a photo I.D. with our request for an absentee ballot? I can take a picture of my WI drivers' license and load it onto my C drive, but do they have the capacity for me to attach it somehow when I request the absentee ballot?

Also, would my municipal clerk have the ballots? Seems a lot simpler that way.

4. Copy your Photo ID

What is done at the clerk's office is that they make a color copy of your ID.
If you have a printer with a scanner/copier you can easily do this at home and include that with your application for absentee ballot.

A digital image may not be accepted as they can be manipulated. I would use the simple color copy and print that is pretty common. A Kinko's can make one for pennies, if you have no priniter ( or are out of ink).

You can drop the docs off at the clerk's off or mail it to them, as long a it's post marked before the deadline my mail, in my first post here.
