Two Wauwatosa residents are suing the city, mayor and police chief over the October curfew

Two Wauwatosa residents who say they were arrested during the citywide curfew in October are suing the city for "violation of their constitutional rights."

Kathryn Knowlton and Dana McCormick filed a lawsuit against the city of Wauwatosa, Mayor Dennis McBride and Police Chief Barry Weber.

Knowlton and McCormick are demanding compensation, a declaration that the city's practice of declaring unlawful assemblies violates the First and Fourth constitutional amendments and a jury trial, among other demands.

Both plaintiffs declined to comment on the lawsuit when reached by a reporter. McBride also said he couldn't comment on the pending lawsuit. Weber said only that the lawsuit had been turned over to the city attorney.
