Wisconsin elections administrator Meagan Wolfe says she won't resign despite calls from GOP for her
MADISON The state's top election official said Monday she has no plans to resign after calls from Republicans who control the state Legislature to lose her job overseeing the state's elections agency.
Meagan Wolfe, the nonpartisan administrator of the Wisconsin Elections Commission, said lawmakers calling for her resignation are misrepresenting to the public her job and how policies are made at the commission, which require a bipartisan vote of at least four of the six commissioners.
"I think in some ways that they think I'm an easy target. I'm not," Wolfe said.
"I think that anybody that's looked at the integrity of the work that I've done, the dedication that I've given to this position, and the support I've provided to our heroic local election officials I don't think that the claims have any basis. And I do think that this is partisan politics at its worst."
