Incumbents win Mequon-Thiensville School District recall election

Voters in Mequon and Thiensville cast ballots in a recall race Tuesday, Nov. 2, where both incumbents and challengers hoped for a large turnout.

In the end, the incumbents won.

This was a high profile election in the Milwaukee area. Mequon used to be bright red, possibly turning pink. They did go for Trump in 2020. The recall people had the backing of the right, Uihlein donations. One recall candidate has connections to Kleefish. They cited CRT, mask mandates and falling test scores.

The incumbents won from 16 to 19 points. Some good news for once.

2. My impression of Mequon is that it is run by educated right-wingers....

So maybe not a huge surprise that they don't want the dumb nut jobs in charge of their kids' learning. Will be hard for their kids to get into the select universities if THEIR schools are teaching some bastardized form of science.
