MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Republican U.S. Senate candidate Eric Hovde conceded Monday morning to Sen. Tammy Baldwin and will not seek a recount.

Hovde made the announcement in a video posted to X late Monday morning, nearly two weeks after Election Day. He said he is proud of the campaign that he ran, adding that he was disappointed in the election results and that the outcome was not what he had hoped for.

“I have heard from numerous supporters urging me to challenge the election results,” Hovde said. “However, without a detailed review of all the ballots and the legitimacy, which will be difficult to obtain in the courts, a request for a recount would serve no purpose because you would just be recounting the same ballots regardless of their integrity. As a result and my desire to not add to political strife through a contentious recount, I’ve decided to concede the election.”.................
