NSW Government says entire state in drought.

"The NSW Government says "100 per cent" of the state is now in drought.

"Figures from the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) show every part of the state is affected by the dry conditions, with almost one quarter classified as being in "intense drought".

(snip)

"Chair of the Australian Fodder Industry Association Frank McRae said NSW had practically run out of feed for its animals.

'There's pretty much virtually nothing in NSW and supplies are rapidly drying up in southern Victoria,' Mr McRae said."

Officially, it's winter here in Australia, although temperatures have been hovering as high as 25 deg.C in recent weeks. What will happen during the summer bushfire season doesn't bear thinking about.

And yet Australia is one of the slowest countries in the world to be undertaking meaningful action on climate change. Many of our politicians refuse to acknowledge the existence of man-made climate change, because it doesn't suit big corporations, who make huge donations to conservative political parties. Mining companies are still spruiking the glories of coal, and the government just act as their echo chamber.
