ALP wins Queensland state election

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-10-31/qld-election-labor-wins-annastacia-palaszczuk-premier/12832688

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has claimed victory in the Queensland election, making her the first female party leader in the state to win three elections.

The win delivers Ms Palaszczuk the first fixed four-year parliamentary term for Queensland.

Speaking to a room of supporters at party headquarters, Ms Palaszczuk said she was confident of securing a majority government and said she was "deeply humbled" to be Premier for the next four years.

She acknowledged it has not been an easy year for "many, many people".

Good news for the ALP securing the outright win and potentially gaining a seat or two.

Even better news for the Greens who doubled their seat tally to 2 although it does look like their percentage of votes statewide is
down which is disappointing.

More good news in seeing the One Nation vote collapse but they did retain their 1 seat.

Katters Australian Party remains the largest of the minor parties with 3 seats despite only registering a little over 2 percent of the statewide vote. Still not convinced by this lot and even more convinced that those voting for them don´t actually understand their policy. It´s a shame as I quite fancy moving to those parts once covid blows over.

Overall an ALP win and Green gain is not a bad result.
