"Red Tory" Flora MacDonald dies at 89

First serious female candidate for the Progressive Conservative Party leadership, external affairs minister under Joe Clark in 1979-80.

woman to walk the streets of Kingston". She had to put up with a lot I bet. Being the first is a tough slog. I saw her presentation of her fact finding mission to Congo refugee camps just after the Rwandan genocide. She certainly was not 'slowed down' in her retirement.
