Making a list....

...of Harpers attacks on democracy.

http://thetyee.ca/Opinion/2015/08/10/Harper-Abuses-of-Power-Final/?utm_source=daily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=100815

Stephen Harper and his Conservatives have racked up dozens of serious abuses of power since forming government in 2006. From scams to smears, monkey-wrenching opponents to intimidating public servants like an Orwellian gorilla, some offences are criminal, others just offend human decency.

Last week we published 59 examples in two parts, and asked our readers to suggest any we may have missed. Among the many suggestions we gratefully received, we concluded that 11 more meet the criteria for "abuses of power." Today we compile all 70 items into one omnibus of abuse by the Stephen Harper government.

I kept hoping somebody was writing it all down. I have this lingering fantasy of having all of this information at my fingertips when the Tories show up at my door. Usually I just lose my composure completely when somebody tries to defend the Harper government. I seethe...but with these on a cue card or two I may make some sense.

Via an interesting Facebook site I stumbled across -- Clowns Against Child Poverty. Really.

The above is a link to a specific item about the recession, but there's other useful information on the Clowns FB page, including links to other resources.

I knew one of the clowns once upon a time. They of course show up at a lot of rallies, and have seen them in a number of different oarades, including the 3 hr Victoria Day Parade. I think I've seen them at Pride and once in a while, they just get out there and make noise!
