Liberal majority government projected in Newfoundland and Labrador election, unseating conservatives

The Liberals have taken an early lead as ballots are counted in the 20th general provincial election in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Polls opened at 8 a.m. NT and closed at 8 p.m. NT, and now the province awaits results for the 40 members of the House of Assembly.
... Recent public opinion polls suggest a Liberal government under leader Dwight Ball will be elected, ousting Paul Davis's Progressive Conservatives. Earle McCurdy's New Democrats have consistently ranked third in the polls.
... The Tories have been in government since Danny Williams led them to a 2003 victory, but the party has been struggling in the polls since 2012.
