'I can't really walk around town because I am afraid to get teased, to get bullied,' Cree youth says in video

A 16-year-old Cree youth's deeply personal anti-bullying message has gone viral on Facebook.

Gregory Sutherland recorded a 14-minute plea for an end to bullying that's been shared thousands of times.

"I can't really walk around town because I am afraid to get teased, to get bullied," Sutherland says in the video, which has been viewed more than 30,000 times.

Most of the bullying focuses on the fact that he's overweight, he said.

to deflect attention away from their own (obvious) flaws.

I have a co-worker who is often targeted for abuse by others. I went to high school with this person, and she was bullied terribly then. I will not permit others to do this to her now.

She is a sweet, introverted soul who does her work very well - and often much better - than her would-be harassers. I say "would-be" because I simply won't allow it and have made that clear.

Doesn't stop them from talking complete trash about her amongst themselves though. In my opinion, they dislike her because she outshines them in work performance, and they know it.

She's a threat to them.
