The Word "Moistly"

Throughout the novel coronavirus pandemic, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been giving daily updates from outside his home in Ottawa.
Mostly, these are pretty serious, given the situation — but on Tuesday things got weird for one brief, awkward moment.

While talking about the use of protective face masks, Trudeau uttered the word "moistly" and then immediately regretted it.

"It protects others more than it protects you because it prevents you from breathing or speaking…moistly on them," he said.
He then paused and added, "What a terrible image."

It was a rare moment of levity in these otherwise trying times — and soon, "moistly" was on the lips of many Canadians.

(He's still more eloquent than some other 'world leaders')

"say it don't spray it" ... "keep your spit to yourself" and "protect yourself from the flying salva of others".

I watched a video of when he said it and he did cringe a bit but his eyes twinkled up a bit too. I bet he never in a million years thought he'd have to caution people to be careful about swapping spit.

Actually - it's sorta sad we have to worry about that now,

but here we are.

I guess I should be grateful I'm an old fart and did all sorts of "swapping spit", among other things - without worry decades ago.

I live in Northern Ontario - born and raised in this Province from 1950 on . . .

I said I am an old fart, right?

Well - I'm in the danger zone - if I get COVID-19 - I'm gonna die.

I started watching our stats here in Ontario 3 weeks ago when the death toll was 8 (for our Province) - now it's 200 . . . . .

Frikken right I'm paying attention.

W

ps: - I'm quite fine with the way our Premier, and our Prime Minister are handling this - coulda been sooner, tougher, but I'm all in for this isolation/shutdown thingie
