The government is 'planning for martial law' after a no-deal Brexit and everyone is worried

As tensions rise with the Brexit deadline fast approaching, another round of stories reveals the chaos that might ensue if the UK crashes out of the EU without a deal.

Now it has been reported Brexit planners are looking into the possible imposition of martial law after no-deal Brexit to prevent civil disobedience.

According to a report in the Sunday Times, powers available under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 would allow ministers to impose curfews, travels bans, confiscate property and deploy the armed forces to quell rioting.

I am really hoping that this is scare tactics to get MPs in line to vote on the deal - otherwise what the fuck happened to the oldest modern democracy on the planet?!?!?!

Most of the coverage here in the states makes it seem like the choice is between no-deal Brexit and May's no good deal Brexit.

However I think it unlikely - IMO it is between Mays Deal and No Deal - between a rock and a hard place

voting for Brexit - total bullshit lies, etc. (common RW ploy) and now many (Majority) do not want to leave the EU.

Russia (again) and the hard right were behind Brexit of course with lies.
