United Kingdom
Related: About this forumSince our leaders seem to think it is OK to steal democracy whenever they want, I have a plan...
The hard right and the hard left have hijacked the political discourse in the UK and they are not representative of most of us. Lets face it we are a middle of the road nation and until austerity Britain and then Brexit, moderation was the key, irrespective of the party which you supported. Now not so much.
You know they chunter on about taking back control? Well, I have a plan to do exactly that
Step One. All centre left in Labour and all centre right in the Conservative party resign their parties whip and cross the floor.
Step Two. Along with those who have already been expelled, or quit, from the two main parties, alongside the Liberal Democrats, the Greens and the SNP, form a collation to create a moderate majority.
Step Three. This collation engages with the mother and the father of the House to lead them through this current democratic crisis.
Step Four. The collation calls for a vote of no confidence in the current Prime Minister. Which he will, of course lose. Corbyn will insist that he gets the chance to form a government that has the confidence of the House. He too will lose.
Step Five. A government of national unity is formed with a joint PM role for the mother and the father of the House (so no-one can bitch that the left or right has more power).
Step Six. They ask for an extension to Brexit for a period no less than 12 months.
Step Seven. They have a second referendum during this period and if Brexit wins again they bring forth a credible long term plan to exit sensibly and like grownups.
Step Eight. They call a general election. The political landscape will have changed significantly, and the old parties will be washed out. Which cannot be a bad thing.
Look. The Moderate Majority TAKING BACK CONTROL
