Labour's deputy leader Tom Watson stands down

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2019-50325666

Labour's deputy leader Tom Watson is stepping down from his role and will not run as an MP in the December election.

He says he will continue to campaign for the party, and the decision was "personal, not political".

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn thanked Mr Watson for his service, adding: "This is not the end of our work together."

Mr Watson has often been at odds with the leadership and faced an attempt to oust him at Labour's conference

He's the reason Labour isn't wiping the floor with the Tories. The electorate sees Corbyn as being scarier than the Tories.

He's seen as being a bit too "off message" and not loyal enough to Corbyn.

To be honest though, he would have been a much much better Labour leader than Jeremy Corbyn.

That is it for the moderate wing. I don't blame him, I am quite sure that he has problems with the manifesto and if by some miracle Labour gets in he would have to support it - but shit. I am sure this will make moderate Labour think carefully about their election choices.
