(7,949 posts)They always have relatively small displays (i.e big for a private display/not massive for a public one) in parks dotted around that locality. I think we get a prettier view than those attending do.
There's usually a really big public display on Greenock waterfront, but I didn't notice whether it happened this year as our neighbours were trying to hold their own wee display on their back lawn right outside our living room window (I think their fireworks must have been damp, as most of them fizzled out).

Just no public fireworks displays this year.

(41,305 posts)Organized public displays, and parties mixing households, are banned in England and Wales; not sure about elsewhere in the UK. However, families with gardens or any outside spaces can still have Bonfire Night, and certainly there've been quite a few fireworks in my neighbourhood; probably more than usual because the public displays aren't happening.
